Join us July 18-20th, 2025 for a mixed media approach to painting abstract art with Artist and Author, Jodi Ohl, of “Abstracts in Acrylic and Ink.”
Calling all fellow creatives! Are you ready to dive into a weekend filled with boundless imagination and artistic expression? Join us for an unforgettable journey into the captivating world of abstract art!
Whether yo are a seasoned painter or just starting to explore your artistic side, our weekend-long abstract art class is the perfect opportunity to unleash your creativity and embrace the power of abstraction.
If you are interested in abstract painting but just didn’t know where to start or you have been painting in acrylics and want to learn some fresh techniques, Exploring Abstract Art with Jodi Ohl could just be the workshop for you.
What Students Can Expect to Learn:
During this fast paced and fun filled 3-day workshop, we will experiment with a variety of warm up exercises that will help guide the students towards their main project, a 20×20 abstract painting.
Over the course of this weekend workshop, students can expect to:
- Explore design principles that will help organize their composition
- Create value studies to work on contrast in their work
- Learn how and when to use a variety of mixed media gel and acrylic mediums in their work.
- Create work that doesn’t have a subject matter but evokes a feeling or experience of the artist’s choice. Use your brush as your voice, your canvas as your stage as you learn to entertain the viewer in the way only YOU can through abstract art.
- Be guided by the instructor in a gentle and nurturing way.
- Participate in robust discussions about art and the creative life.
- Let loose and connect with other like-minded fellow artists!
Remember, the beauty of abstraction lies in its ability to reflect the essence of who we are. So, let your brush be your voice, and let your imagination soar as you create art that is uniquely, beautifully, and unapologetically YOU.
